Hi,
It seems that the plugin does not work with the 10D. I can open RAW files shot with a d30 just fine but not the ones shot with the 10d. How could that be? How can Adobe omit such a popular camera? Besides, should not a raw file from a 10d or a d 30 be identical?
Thanks

The plug-in came out before the camera. You can hack it so that it will work with the 10D. Instructions can be found here:

10D support is expected to arrive with Photoshop 8 when ACR will be included.

When you say won't work with 10D,. do you mean the camera via USB or the files that the camera creates?
I ask because I have installed the plug-in into Photoshop elements 2.0 (I only have version 6.5 of Photoshop)
And yet Elements still wil not open the raw files.
I have not yet used raw at all,. maybe I'm doing something wrong,.? or maybe the 10D files won't work without the "hack" listed above?
An example file is;
CRW_1789.crw
this is what I should be able to open?
Thanks for any help.

My mistake! I read it again and saw that it is the file,.. not the camera,. so i ran the hex editor and am all set. :D

I wonder is there's a "fix" for IrfanView.

Roger please, do you know about an existing ready to install hack for 10D in the web? ... or an alternative plug-in working well with PS7.0? Yours - Tiberius

Tiberius,
Part 1 of your question: no, that would be piracy.
Part 2: you need to install PS 7.01. Camera raw only works with this version.

Hallo Roger,
my problem is that I dont want to invest 200 US$ before I cannot test it, and as far as I understood your previous answer I have to:
1. buy first the "wrong" Version (for D60)
2. then hack it in order to be able to use it with 10D
.... and so I dont have any arguments vs. Adobe to claim that it´s not proper working or simply I´m not satisfy with it.
... but thanks anyway for your time!

Adobe RAW plugin works with Adobe Photoshop Elements Ver 2.0, although it still has to be modified to work with the 10D.

Tiberius,
I understand your reluctance to spring 200 bucks on a promise. Adobe to save there's a 30-day money-back guarantee on Camera Raw (which is only USD 99, so I assume you are including the cost of upgrading to PS7 in your sums).
You might like to have a look at Capture One DSLR Limited Edition. A full version can be downloaded for 15 days evaluation:

This is a really nifty converter. A final release of v1.2 is only a few days away.
