I just set up my new Epson 1280 printer and tried printing a couple of photos taken on a D30. I made a couple of small color adjustments on the images through Photoshop 7.0. My printed image doesn't look as good as I think it should.

Is there a simple solution to getting the print to look as good as it does on the screen? The one I printed looked somewhat washed-out compared to the screen and had a different color bias (warmer...a bit more yellow, I think).

If it matters...I am a very experienced photographer, but a fairly INexperienced Photoshop user.

Any info will be appreciated!

Welcome to the confusing world of profiles. I have set my screen settings to match what my printer produces. This is probably an imperfect shortcut, but works for me. I have all of my ICC profiles at sRGB.

There are areticles on the Internet, search for "ICC profiles" "monitor calibration" and possibly printer calibration.

Not an expert, but I hope that helps.
