A weekend of contrasting weather, Saturday at my local track was murky all morning before the heavens opened :(, Sunday I was greeted with bright sunshine at Silverstone for the F3/GT series.

Great set of pictures, but #4 in particular is excellent.

Cheers,

Simon.

I am with you on that - Number 4 is the standout shot of the bunch. They are all technically very nice, but the rain shot is just different enought to get a second look.

Thanks guys :D

The single seaters got the worst of the conditions and how they still manage to race while not being able to see anything but a wall of spray is beyond me :cool:

Silverstone looks almost tropical compared to Saturday's downpour ;)
#4 is a great shot. The Ginettas look like they had some close racing.

Thanks Ian :D

Andy, both the Ginettas and the Coopers had the "end of term" feeling, which kept the marshals busy after each race brushing away glass, bodywork etc

#4 is top notch. Something's making me wonder what it would look like in contrasty black & white...

Very impressive set of shots. I have to agree that No. 4 is the pick of the bunch but they're all very nice.

Cheers,
Steve

I'm not usually a huge fan of motorsports pictures, but these are striking. I especially like the composition, light, and color in #4. The muted misty light and great color really caught my eye!

Count me in with everyone else. I don't even like racing but I'd hang #4 on my wall it's that great.

Great stuff.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned it yet - but #4 is particularly excellent ;)

EDIT: Just spotted that this is an old one... good to see these though... must have missed 'em the first time round.

Sometimes it's nice when an old thread is resurrected. Really nice shots. Great timing and the quality is A1.

:shock: Made me do a double take seeing this thread again

Thanks for the kind comments.

#4 was taken while sheltering under the open tailgate of my estate car which I had reversed to trackside:o:p;)
How the drivers were able to push in those conditions is beyond me.

I agree...that one stood out to me the most as well. I fiddled with it in PS and made some adjustments with levels, hue/saturation and a little unsharp mask, and I think it really brought out some things in the photo. With the red/blue paint on the car and the red on the helmet, as well as the brass-like color of the wheel supports (whatever they're called) emphasized, this picture really comes alive. I'd post my edit, but he doesn't have "editing ok" selected.
