Does anyone know if it is possible, or where I can purchase Canon parts for the camera? (300D)
Here is what happened:
I was shooting a H.S. football game recently when a play came right to the sidelines. Nothing new, these things happen, and I was at least 10 feet away from the falling bodies. Well, in the aftermath of people trying to get out of the way I believe I was shoved by one of the “sideline dads” and tripped over one of the orange sideline triangle foam marker things, and hitting the ground pretty hard since I wasn’t expecting it.
Since it was abrupt I didn’t have time to go into my “arm in the air save the camera” pose, it hit the ground just as hard as I did, right on the tripod collar of the 70-200L. Surveying the damage after getting up: the tripod collar was broken, the bracket that holds the flash onto the camera was bent so the flash wobbled on on the camera like some kind of oblong gear shift, (Shot the game sans flash.) but other than that the camera, lens, and flash seemed to work just fine.
I know BH sells a new tripod collar for the lens ($150.00) but I want to know where I can get a new show bracket. For now I took the one from my old film Rebel 2k, it was the same size, and luckily none of the screw holes for mounting were stripped out as they tightened right back down pretty solidly.
Sorry the lengthy story for a simple question, but I’m obviously still rather annoyed at the whole deal.
