They look nice. Good exposures, even lighting (if a bit flat...I see by the catchlights that you've likely used on camera fill flash on one or two).
The only niggle I have is that they don't seem that sharp, but that could be web issue.

Totally agree. Good comp, but the sharpness could be fixed in PP.

You cut off limbs in a few of the images, and they do need some sharpening, but aside from that, not bad!

I like 6 and 7. I had to laugh a bit because these pictures remind me of my own teenage boys who pretty much refuse to smile (show teeth) unless forced.

Thanx guys. This was my first shoot like this. The kid was great and we had a blast. I also noticed the softness. I think its from shooting at 2.8 with my tammy. Shoulda stopped it down to 4 to be sharper. But I appreciate all the comments. This shoot really boosted my confidence to do my senior pic type things

I would have cropped down 1,2 and 3 a bit more. But I like the off center subject. The subject looks a bit stiff/posed, perhaps get the subject a little more engaged with you and get some action shots. Candids are often some of my favorite.s

As an aside, what are people's views on this?
My rule is that cutting limbs is not the end of the world, as long as the cut isn't made at a joint (eg. you don't have to show the whole arm, but if you cut the arm, don't cut at the elbow).
Hands and feet are different; if you show them, show the whole thing.
Tops of heads are ok to cut.
Thoughts?

Agreed. #2 in't too bad, just a lot of tension there, the last image drives me nuts with half a foot showing. I'm known for cropping above the knees a lot, and I'm terrible with hands, but it's definitely not a no no all the time. You just have to do it well.

Nice set. I think #4 is best, then 7.
It looks like you were shooting at the right time of the day (in nice light) yet he still appears to be squinting a bit in several pictures (in addition to the one where he is laughing).

First question would be: Why are you showing unedited images? To anyone? That's a part of the process. Some simple levels, exposure, vibrance, etc would help these immensely. Right now they look like snapshots.
Pretty much agree with edge on cropping. In #5 he lost his hands in the war, and in #8, well #8 is awkward in most every aspect. Sorry, really don't mean to be harsh. I'd like to see these edited. The very best photographer on POTN's work isn't nearly as impressive SOOC.
