I have just installed windows 2003 server, a wholly new system. When i plug in my PowerShot A40, windows recognized it as A40, but it do not provide any driver.
I tried to use the WIA driver for XP/ME without success. How can i get it to work?
any comment will be appreciated

You still need to unstall your A40 driver from the disk. Even though windows reconizes the camera.

I have just installed windows 2003, and though it can recognize A40, it doesn't provide any driver, so i have to find it a driver.
my problem is, Canon doesn't provide any driver for windows 2003. So i think i will have to use drivers that are for windows XP. But when i tried to install the driver, it said that "This driver can only be installed in Windows XP". I have heard that by modifing register, drivers that are for windows 2000 can be used in Windows XP, but i don't know how. Can anyone tell me how to? thanks to your reply

Hi,
I got a similar problem with Windows 2003 and the A40. By setting the WinXP compatibility mode, I have forced the WIA drivers into W2K3, but when i attach the camera to the PC, it can't communicate with it.
Any further ideas?
