here's another shot from my recent trip to Rocky Mountain National Park.

This is of Hallet's Peak, above Bear Lake, from a short way up the Bierstadt Lake trail.

Hi, Qurlyjoe.

In my opinion the whole picture looks like painted on a canvas!!!

Liked a lot colour saturation, as well as sharpness of your shot. I'd expect the mountains to come out a little blurred due to aperture f/8, but they're quite sharp!!!!!! And I guess stepping down aperture (f/16, for instance) would yield a even slower shutter speed, and you'd end up having to use a tripod or stepping up ISO.

Another thing that strikes me as beautiful is the composition you've figured out. The trees are framing the mountains in the foreground.

Awsome.

Cheers.

Wonderful shot! That looks like it was taken about the same time I was there last. A few weeks back.

Really nice shot. I love the colors. I agree it looks like a painting.

Wow...even the clouds lined up nicely for you! Good work. (always impressed when someone is sharp enough to use the flash on a landscape when it's needed)

full disclosure: I was balancing awkwardly on the rocks and leaning against a tree, and apparently nicked the button to open the flash lid by accident while turning the camera trying to frame the shot. Didn't know I'd done it till I took the shot. I immediately closed the flash lid and retook the shot. Of course, this one was better. It's somewhat embarrassing when the camera knows better than I do.
