uploading pics to camera

i have just bought an s2 but found you cant upload pictures from your computer to the camera unless they were taken with a canon camera, anyone know of a way around this as i have a pic from a kodak which i want om my s2

i have a pic of an old bike i once owned and planned to put it on the camera as a start up image, i found it annoying that canon have decided to limit the pics you upload to those taken with canon camera,s ,in saying that im very happy with the s2

I have copied photos taken with other than Canon. I thought it only needed to be a JPEG of a specified dimension. The camera's manual should explain the requirements and how to do it.

I've never been able to copy pictures to the CF card in the camera either. It simply does not allow the copy function to be selected, it is greyed out.

thanks for the reply brian i checked and found that you could upload any jpeg, majarvis to upload connect your camera to the computer, and when the camera window appears on your computer click the tab that says set to camera, then choose upload images, you then have to pick the (add image after adjusting )button which is where i was going wrong

Hmmm... I tried doing this, but it won't add pics that have not been taken with the camera :(

Yu can upload pics to the camera using a card reader. Simply move or copy and paste from your PC to the folder in which the pics are on kept on the sd card. The file name just needs to be in the same format as the other pics in the sd card folder.
