not getting the full resolutions..

HI,

I had my Canon S30 for about 8months now, I wonder if its set properly or did I miss some settings. I know that its 3.2mbpix, but how come the size of the pictures that I took only comes out to about 1.5 or 1.6mb? And my settings are high and finest. Shouldn't the size of the pic be somewhere around 3mbpix or so?

I just want to make sure that I'm getting the most out of this camera.

any suggestion will be greatful.

you also need to change the file format from "jpeg" to "raw" that should do it, since jpeg is a compressed format.

MegaPixels (resolution) & MegaBytes (filesize) are not the same thing :)

A 1.5MB filesize is about right for a high quality 3MP JPEG compessed picture.
