Looking for used software on e-bay I see this software that claims to be as good as adobe has anyone tried it. it is too cheap probably but sometimes people do that to get their product on the market. is it worth a try? does any photo software out there use histograms? I don't claim to know anything about software but cannot afford Adobe.

What's your budget? You can get Adobe Photoshop Elements 2 for about US$100.00 (http://www.adobe.com/store/products/master.jhtml?id=catPhotoshopElements&sourcecode=106507 ). It's not as full featured as Photoshop but it does have most of the non-advanced features you're going to need to edit your photos.

There's also Ulead PhotoImpact 8(http://www.ulead.com/pi/runme.htm ). It sells for less than US$100.00 and it's very good. It's got more features than Elements and, for the longest time, I was using it as my primary editor instead of Photoshop, because it was a lot easier to work with. It also comes bundled with an album software and a photo browser called PhotoExplorer. These 3 softwares are nicely integrated with each other.

Both Elements and PhotoImpact allow you to view and work with histograms, just like in Photoshop.

Sorry, but other than these two plus Photoshop, I haven't worked with any other softwares.
