I just picked up a business card of another photographer. It's got a sample image with the business info printed on an Epson paper in a business card size. I really like the looks of it. I don't if it was done on a home consumer type printer, maybe from a larger size print of multiple images and then trimmed to size or if a lab may have done them.
Anyone have cards like this and how or where did you have them done ?

Mark,
The possibilities are endless for producing business cards with digital photography and Adobe Photoshop. I make all my own cards and do a lot of work for other businesses. The attached show 6x4 cards that I use for self-promotion. If you wanted to make business cards out of them it is simply done through Photoshop by copying and pasting the 1 image 4 times onto a larger canvas (eg 15x10) the printing it out as a 6x4. You then trim that to give you 4 business cards at 3x2 each. Very simple. I print mine through my local digital minilab. At 19c a print that makes for full colour business cards at under 5c each. The commercial printers can't do that quality for that price WITHOUT doing the art work. Have a go at it.

...and 2 more to add to the "self-promotion".
These I do as 6x4 postcard size and also 3x2 business card size.
It's very handy when putting together a couple's wedding album, to make a business card/postcard using one of their photographs, and include a dozen or so in their package. You will not believe the work you will get out of that.

There have been more than a few posts on this subject in the pastcouple months or so. I just finished going through all of the design process of my logo, branding, and business card creation with my freind who is a graphic designer.
Here is my final design for the business card.

If you are interested, in her work, PM me and I can put you in contact with my designer. Her work is really fast, reliable, and good.

Mark, from one Mark to another. If you are serious about having a bussiness card get someone to design one for ya. and then once you have got that, go to a print firm and get the m to print it. This way you will look more professional than just a card printed from phone.
They are a cheap idea, and you will come off cheap.

i also work in a lab (net admin) and one of the services we offer is photo business cards - printed on plain paper back so it does not say kodak or anyting on it, but is a true photographic process - these are a big hit w/a LOT of different people, not just photographers, but lots of businesses
