I learned the limitation of a 300D and a 70-200 today. I'm now stoked on getting a pro body with REAL AI-Servo and a 400. Did OK I think, considering I had an "ok" area to shoot.

Ya managed to get them nice and crisp! Very pleasing on the eye.
I'm looking at upgrading to a 20d...just can't bring myself to part with the cash at the moment.

You did a very good job here. Few weeks ago I did the same with a car race but I'm not that good in panning I think.
I don't like the pictures I took. Especially the backgrounds are very crowded and distracting.
I wish my pictures lloks like yours.

Thanks guys. I tried ot get my panning down to 1/100 but got many a blurry shot. Some at 1/125 were ok but 1/160 was the sweet spot in that turn.
I was fighting the 300D with the wasia hack. It has ai-servo but auto exposure in sports mode. You can get it to go into ai-servo in other modes but it's very weak. Again, it reinforces my desire for a pro body.

It may be. The first two look like crap on my $100 monitor, but look great on my calibrated Dell LCD.

So how exactly did you setup your 300D to take these shots focusing wise?

Sometimes I set it to ai -servo and pressed the left button for the shutter (Wasia hack).
Next I set up a wide DOF (6-10 feet) and switched the lens to manual and fired away in manual mode or TV mode. Mostly at 1/160th. Set the area for the focus and shot once they got there.
