I'm a little disappointed that this shot is so soft, but I guess I shouldn't beat myself up because these little guys are so hard to shoot. The Bigma AF can hardly keep up!

Very NICE! Love the detail in the colorations you got,. on the back and head.

Think about cropping in a little .. (well a lot) on the left hand side,. take off more than half of what's there between the edge and the bird,. then trim just a tad off the right hand side ( don't cut into the top leaf, leave it whole) to make it all more "portrait"

I think that might work well.

Thanks for your suggestions! I would LOVE to crop this, but I'm trying to hide a dirty little secret. It's slightly OOF thanks to my Sigma 50-500's slow AF.

I like it. Mostly because it's not static. The colorations are excellent too.

Nice shot of a hard to capture species. For small and very active subjects such as this I find that manually focussing is faster and more acurate than AF. After practicing for a while I found myself using MF almost exclusively.
