Haven't posted any pictures over here for a while so I thought I'd throw in a few from today. This girl was quite the model, let me get so close that I had to take a step back so my 400 5.6L could focus. These are full frame, no cropping, just a resize.

Wow, like those photos. I have been trying to catch a good shot of those goldfinches, you did it. Well done.

Nice series of shots. Is she feeding on Cosmos flower seedheads?

I wish all birds were as cooperative as this one was. I'm not sure what kind of flowers they are, I took this when they were in bloom with my Tokina 12-24.

It's called a thistle bush. Great photo's, gives a very good indication of how the lens performs up-close.

I hadn't gotten any sharp photos from the lens for a while and was starting to convince myself it needed to be calibrated then it went and got these shots for me. I might have to try it with an extension tube or two on there next time I go out.

Those are really nice shots. Great to see the finch in its natural environment instead of at a feeder. Getting close makes a world of difference! I love when I don't have to crop a shot. Looks so much better.

I'm not sure what kind of flowers they are,Common name: Canada Thistle. And you'll never hear a farmer call it a flower! The Canadians can have them all back, as far as I'm concerned.
Great shots of the finch. Not often they let you get that close.
