A little tangent: does anyone notice the 135L autofocusing faster on semipro bodies than Rebels? I thought the center af cross point should be the same on all the bodies.

Thank you! I need more comments like this! I generally shoot alone so using a reflector can be hard. Maybe I should invest in a flash.

Yea, I need the 70-200 now. I'm shooting less and less low light and more in the studio and the 85 is just too long for full body in my home studio. I'm also going to be shooting snowboarding this season as well as some MX and cars at the track next season and the 85/135 just won't cut it for what I need right now. I found myself stopping the 85 down most of the time anyways to about f/2-2.8 so it just makes sense. I can't afford all 3 right now but will be picking both the 85/135 back up in about 6 months.

I hate coming into this thread! I am so tempted to get this lens again. I don't think any other lens in this price range gives that amazing look. The 85L is a bokeh monster, but it has a whole different look (dreamy versus clarity and completely blown out background). Makes me want to have both! I just need to find $900 now... Which I don't think will happen anytime soon :( Miss this lens!

Thanks, I'll be back in the group in a few months though. There's no way I can't have this in my bag. It's my favorite lens ever. I also just found out I have a buyer for the 85. I'll be back posting some old shots I haven't processed though.

135L on crop (60D) will have FOV about 200mm, shooting in large room or out door should be very nice.

Yes it can work but is generally quite long for anything indoors other than tight headshots. As far as asking if 2 primes are better than one zoom? That's up to you.

Landscapes and macros? You might be better suited with the 100L and a 17-50 type zoom than the 135L.

A shot I almost deleted, then a simple change of tones and a vignette made it one of my favorites. Be careful what you delete guys, this is not the first time it happens to me. No crop at all for this shot, but sometimes a crop and a tilt make wonders too.

Honestly I don't feel such a big difference, what changed was the 35L it feels so much better on FF

I love this shot! I think the BG works really well here. Pretty model and your Japanese style achieved as well.

Gorgeous and yes it definitely has a J-Pop feel to it with her eye makeup and especially the headwear. Background feels right in the photo and conveys the pop-y nature of the photo !! Extremely well done and beautiful subject.

Just got mine from lensrentals after conveting it after watching The President's Photographer. The first thing I noticed (besides the huge amount of glass that greets you) is how much bigger the Oval Office must be than my apartment....

Even on a full frame 135 is a serious zoom indoors... (unles you live in the White House)

I just listed my 85L for sale... Rebought the 135L!

I really miss this lens and prefer it over the 85L I think. I will miss the f/1.2 for low light, but I think I need something wider that fast. So a 24L II may be coming in the next few weeks/months for my low-light. Maybe a 35L.

congrats :) take the 35L it's just a magical lens. I took it with the 135L together in the photoshop and damn I'm glad I did. :)
