All the photos I see in the thread are razor sharp. This isn't the case with mine. I get some good photos granted. But nearly all vignette it seems.

And it's a finnicky auto focus.

if it is still in the return period, exchange it. If not send it in to tamron you might have gotten a bad copy.

I just got it today.

I mean that doesn't seem normal for every photo to vignette. Other sample photos look razor sharp.

no that does not seem normal. It really sounds like you got a bad copy if you are getting vignette all photos.

Would I be better off returning it and reordering it or going for a replacement?

I dont want to have exchange again potentially and then have BH photo video think im a psycho.

BH is great with their return policy, just exchange it.

I see.

Now I'm re-evaluating whether I should give Tamron another try after having a lemon or not...

Exchange it. that does not sound normal and the Tamron is a very nice lens. If there were alot of problems with this lens, it would not be nearly as popular as it is.

bad copy happens, even with canon. Tamron is not playing the lottery like sigma with their prime lenses. They get allot of bad copies with sig. Tamron normally is pretty dependable like canon zoom lenses.

Oh by the way, this thread should be moved to the Lens Forum.

From those photos, you would say I have a defective lens however, right?

Because it's been giving me quite a bit more trouble than the 18-55mm kit lens.

And there's no such thing as the body causing the vignetting is there? Haha I want to be sure it's not my t2i body. But I seriously doubt it.
