These were taken back in August when I first got my S1 IS, and I shot in full auto mode (I know, I know) :p
Anyways, let me know what you think, and how I can improve :)

On a positive note your composition isn't too bad. The images seem too dark or too bright. All images except left most, bottom row have shadow issues on them. The left most, bottom row is very bright. I don't know the S1 IS so can't make any setting/shooting suggestions.

I'm a little afraid to click to expand any more. The photo hosting site is ad-happy. Looking at thumbnails however;
#1, #4, and #6 the subjects are dead center - maybe 6 is OK. Try cropping up or down, or left or right.

#1, subject seems a bit uninteresting. Meandering ducks aren't by themselves very noteworthy. However if you catch a touching act of say ducklings in sync behind mom, or a fine crop of feathers, or profile remenicent of a trophy...
#6 looks out of focus.
Clearer water with better reflections would have added quite a bit. Can you go there early in the morning?
However, like the framing on #2.
I like #3 the most. Can see the ducks expression and body language, sheen on head aat most adventagous angle, and shadow lines up with beak nicely avoiding distraction and leading eye to the subject.

Don't proport to be any good at it myself, just my amature take on them.

Suggestion: Invest $20 on smugmug.com or a similar site that doesn't punish viewers with spamlike ads.

I use FireFox and Adblock. Didn't see any ads when I was there...:lol:

Thanks for the tips :) Will take note the next time I go to photography (probably some nice winter shots over the Christmas holiday.)

Looking at the thumbnails... I like the one with the ducks in a row on the log.
Keep shooting.
