I saw the potential with the strong sun before sunset, and took this.
Constructive comments are highly appreciated...

nice shot of a pretty girl..The strong sun darkened the opposite side quite a bit..this shot with its deep shadows and contrasts might be a good candidate for B&W ! I do miss her left eye showing some..

Nice shot, I like it. :)

I love the shot and the contrast with the setting sun. I have one problem with the fact that the sun light payed special attention to one tooth in front that should have been de-emphasized. A little post processing could do this picture wonders.

I agree with Randy. Lasso her teeth, desaturate the yellows and bump up the lightness and that will take care of that. Some reflective light on her left side would have been helpful I bet but, with that light, I like the contrast too.
Anyway, I love how comfortable she looks and, man, the colors are awesome! Beautiful GF you have there!

Thank you all!
I tried to follow your recommendations, and turned the image to B&W (directly followed HrcRacing instructions).
What do you think? a demonstration of better post-processing will be nice ;-)

nice shot, good natual pose, however I would use curves in your imaging program to bring out some of the darker areas.
I like it alot better in colour to.

I love the color. I like how warm it is, it almost feels a little retro. As was said, if it were possible to do reallllly low powered fill flash or a reflector to pic up a LITTLE bit of light on her face in the shadows, it would be perfect.
Great job!

hi dreamer. here ya go.. adjusted the contrast a little.
your focus was a little soft(mildly blurry) and the sun was a little too bright on her face. something to watch out for next time, otherwise. nice photo.

Here's my try on her teeth. I lasso'd her right teeth but just the one on the left. My hands aren't the steadiest so keep that in mind. Also, it's really easy to go too far but this looked pretty close on my PC.
IMO, the color shot is better than the B&W. The colors are great and the contrast is just what you'd expect from a bright sunshine shot. Looks natural to me and I like it.
I re-read my original reply and, just to clarify, the steps after you've lasso'd and feathered (1-2 pixels usually) are: 1) Enhance-Adjust Color-Hue/Saturation, 2) Edit: Yellows, -xx Saturation, 3) Edit: Master, +xx Lightness-OK.
Before and after pics below.

Kelby's books are pretty awesome. No theory really just "do this, do that". He makes those types of repairs really easy to do.
Thanks,

Hum! run to the car, get the windshield reflector and use it to reflect light on her right side. I like the out of focus part, assuming you are trying to bring us to look at her face/eyes.

in a shot like this, where you've already got blown highlights, you might as well bring up the shadows to match them a little more closely. Just a levels layer with inputs of 1/1.93/255, and a bit of "glamour blur" to her skin. Cute girl, cute pose!
