I am curious, as a new user of photoshop. What does everyone here use as an input device ?
Mouse ?
Tablet w/pen ?
Trackball ?
What is a preferred method for working with photoshop ?
thanks,
Dave

Personally, I use a cordless mouse. Before I got involved in image post-processing, I swore by a logitech trackball. With PS, I find that a trackball doesn't give me the control I require.

I use a mouse also, I just can't get the hang of the pen. But I've been told the pen is far better for working in photoshop.

Microsoft Optical Mouse with Wheel (anyone who doesn't have a wheel, doesn't know what he's missing)
Wacom 6" x 8" Drawing Tablet (I had a 9x12, but I found the extra size more of a nuisance than anything)
The preferred input device is whatever works best for you.

I use...
- 6x8 Wacom Tablet
- Optical Mouse
- Kensington Trackball
I really should use the Tablet more (for the money I paid for it), but must admit that a quality mouse (high resolution tracking) is my favorite.

I use the wireless Microsoft mouse with the wheel. I agree, if you do not have a wheel you do not know what you are missing. The "wired" versions are $20 so it is cheap enough for everyone to get one.

I use the intellemouse and a wacom 6x8. I use the mouse for most things and the tablet for only the most critical. I find the pen more uncomfortable to hold for a long time than a mouse.

I use Logitech Mouseman Wheel (USB) and Wacom Intuos A5 tablet. Wacom is only there for masking and detailed natural drawing (a couple of days I had to recreate hair to one poster!).
