Came across a bunch of these guys tonight. I know the pictures aren't all that good, but if anyone can help on an ID I'd appreciate it as I'm just curious.

Good shots- look like immature orbweb spiders Araneus species.

I think they are actually Genus Larinioides. It says that, " All these spiders spin orb webs close to water. The Larinioides sclopetarius tends to live on man-made steel objects and is seldom found on vegetation."

These guys (and there were tons of them), were all on the steel supports in the middle of a bridge.
