I took this photo in Maui a couple months ago. I've been messing with it ever since because I feel like there is a great photo in there somewhere. Let's see what you guys can do with it:

Decided to give it a try...Adjusted contrast, darkened highlights a bit (except for the central part which is blown out), gave it a bit more saturation and added a simple frame and sharpened just a tiny tad.

wow, great work guys. I'm always surprised with how many variations can come from a single photo.
My attempts at fixing it turned out sort of like DigitalMDX's. This is what I had done to it:

Here's my attempt. Great pic, by the way....it was fun to play with. I just cropped some of the business out and made the sun less centered.

Just had a look at this on your PBase gallerie, its a very punchy image with great colour.
one thing does'nt look quite right in the shot, its the perfect straight & hard edge between sea and ground, I felt a more softer edge would have looked nicer, is the shot made up from 2 images (I appologise if i'm wrong) looking at some of the edits actually makes this more apparent in my view, also thought some of the wonderful colours in this beutiful sky should have come through on the water.
maybe look at the way the sky blends to the distant hills gives a clue how we should expect to see a more softer / muted edge to things at that distance.
In checking your PBase I looked at yout portraits, there are some pics on there that are absolutely wonderful.
especially ...Carlos 05...flav 008 ... and the fabulous picture flav 009 simply stunning in my view
well done
Finally I actually like your version the best so far.

Thanks, Martin. Very kind of you.
The hard line between sea and land is just how it was. The original that I posted for this thread is unedited except for slightly rotating the canvas so the horizon was straight. I see what you mean about how it does look sort of fake.

Thanks for reply,I was wrong and admit it . always worth making sure horizons are level,as you did.
I should also say think this would look good in a frame and on the wall.
Keep up the good work,
Cheers
