This was my most recent little fun project, to see how shallow I could get my DOF. I would say it's about as shallow as an "L" lens (terrible pun, I know) :)

Add a closeup lens and an extension tube on a super telephoto, and shoot at open aperture and print it on a A3 size photograph and view it from 6 inches. You will have more fun.
