Once the rubber peels off, you can upgrade to the D800 that's coming out at the end of August. ;)
haha well If I wanna get the D800, I might not let go of the D700...and just use it as backup...so i still need to replace it.
i wish the D800 have 24mp and have a Crop mode of 12mp too haha
Awww.... I don't have the kiss emoticon on hand. :) Have fun on your vacation!

yeah that happened in Metro Manila, there's a bus accident every few days here. probably one of the most dangerous mode of public transportation here...
drivers are on a commission basis, the more trips/people the higher commission they get. so they tend to be rushing all the time...and accidents like this really are unavoidable

so I already inquired about the 16-35mm f/4 in hong kong hoping... coz the last time when I got the 70-200mm f/2.8, Hong kong was cheaper than B&H and other shops. now they are more expensive. about $150 more expensive than getting it from B&H... so might end up getting there

So after talking with other people about the Zeiss 35, I decided on picking up the f2 over the f1.4. While I have no problem with weight on a lens, the f1.4 version is obviously heavy/bulky over the f2. The other concern is, will I need more speed just going with f2? The answer from a person I asked is I can always switch to a lens like the 24 1.4 if I need more speed. So, I've settled my dilemma.

yeah.. I am just waiting for the Tamron to sell and I am going to pick one up from B&H :D
I would have loved to get it from Helens but I get to pay taxes if I get from them and none from if from B&H.

There will be times when 2.8 really isn't fast enough. So, I'm surprised you haven't prioritized fast prime in your line up. The Zeiss 35 1.4 would be nice but, I have the 24 1.4 and 85 1.2 already. So, this will finally complete my trinity. Now, all I have to do is wait for the 1Ds IV. :)

haha coz I rarely shoot events  i have only shot like 2x in the past 1 year
I had a 50mm f/1.4 when I started shooting Nikon remember? but sold it for the 28-75mm :D
the reason why I did not prioritize primes is because I was aiming at UWA first... and even until now, although I want a 35mm, I am not convinced I need to spend $1700 for that lens yet. for that money, I better get a PC-E :D
but the only prime that is cheap enough that seems worth getting is the new 50mm f/1.8G... I hate 50mm
as for you... you have plenty of lenses already, and I think that 35mm is the last piece in that puzzle...at least for now. you should go out and shoot more instead of shop :p

I think Omar posted this earlier.

That is a new model and it doesn't replace the old Dell which was being touted around the forum. A different model replaced that other one.

You mean the U2410. It's $500 on Dell now on sale. Another model replaced that?
ZZZzzzzzzz.... What a boring Tuesday at work.
 I hear that.
It's the nature of most jobs, especially in the engineering realm...there's a communication/information-processing lull and then a surge.
Yup for me its the calm before the holiday planning season
Sometimes, mornings are calm. Grab coffee, check email/POTN, BS with co-workers... then you get the Chinese fire drills in the middle you'd have to deal with. Then the afternoon sets in and you want to just make it through the day. :p

I'm sitting in an arm chair with the laptop on a wooden TV table thing in front of me. We have a computer desk downstairs, but the desktop is there and there's not much room left for a laptop. The chair there sucks and there's no TV. I have a desk in my bedroom, but it's a catch-all that's caught a lot and never thrown any back.
