HELP ME PHOTOG NERDS! My dad gave me his possibly 30 year old backdrop stand. In the old days the stands have rods at the top, and your backdrops would apparently be nailed onto wood and that wood would have a hole at each end to slide on top of the rods. I have a canvas backdrop that hasno such wood attached and I had thought I would just be clamping it to a pole. SO do they sell poles on B&H etc that would be made to attach to these old backdrop stands so that I could just pop it on top and clamp my canvas backdrop to it?

I COULD go to the store and get a skinny 1x1 of wood and drill holes into it, but IF there was a pole already made to work with my stands I would rather get that! Or maybe this is STILL how they are made but my dad is missing the top BAR.

Walther PPK, is a small caliber pistol .380cal and not a good main gun...it is a fiction writers' way of misusing information. Jame's used even the smaller variant .320, like the .380's dont pack much power. Even 9 mm used by British special forces are not powerful enough that these SAS men shoot double tap all the time. Ppk is a good backup gun.
The other myth that mafia goons use 22 cal to assasinate only works if they shot close range at the nape of the victim.
.40 or .45 cal ftw.

Bond started with a Berretta (IIRC) in the book/movie. I think Fleming chose Walther since they are (or to showcase) British manufacturer.

I would narow it down to the last two.:)

That tripods plate would make it protrude like crazy out unlike a tripod which reverse folds. Unless the gitzo reverse folds and i dont know about it.

You can buy curtain wood rods or stainless steel, or aluminum used for showers and drill the hole.

B&H sells this Impact background holders, the two stands holds an aluminum bar with holes that goes in to the stand rods

Best thing to do. Take a flash light. Shine it on what your shooting and look for where the shadows go. This will help you out on positioning.

In that scenario if your going to have them flip the book then make it a 2 page spread so it looks almost like a calender. That is only if you want to do that but i would avoid it. Just my two cents.

my adorama book, I used photos from my smug mug gallery, some are not large enough for full spreads. Specially those I download via ipad

Jake I like your selection of images for the 2 page spread.Good book. My only knock placing shots which caused the viewer to flip the book vertical to see them. That is about it. In that scenario if your going to have them flip the book then make it a 2 page spread so it looks almost like a calender. That is only if you want to do that but i would avoid it. Just my two cents.
