only basketball and billiard hehe Soccer is becoming popular but I say those guys are a bit too overrated :D

A lot of them are "imports" and no real commitment to the team, I think. No chemistry. The fame may be getting to the head of some <cough> Younghusband <cough>. Maybe over time. Who knows. ;)

If you can get road shoes and don't need to be doing a ton of walking in them, get road shoes and pedals. The road SPD pedals tend to be a bit larger which helps to prevent hot spots on your foot from where your foot meets the pedal. The larger pedals are more efficient.

Shimano pedals are great though, I run the Ultegra's to match my components on my bike, and they are great.

Im going to focus on my wifes riding gear for now i want to get her into clips so i think in about 2 months ill get her a set.... then when x-mas comes around its all me!!!

Don't worry about all the talk. Just think about this scene: Nick all dressed up in spandex, wearing pink sunglasses, going out for a ride and wiping out in the driveway because his feet are attached to the bike.

And Omar getting flat tires because he hit a pothole. :D

All this keeps them back down on a proper level

hahaha

They really aren't that bad. You get used to them, that and I don't do anything all that crazy on my MTB anyway.

fair enough im the guy that loves rock gardens and jumping so a cage would suck for me

:D I knew you would like that one

It's ok, Omar and I have no clue what we are talking about. We just throw around big words and acryonyms that we have seen to seem smart.

It is true most of the time we just say things like SPD-DL, AERO, Carbon and such. Just pick a random ackronym, with a creative description and choose a random element

Well, his absence from the forum has cause B&H to lose at least one sale, while Helen's presence and activity here has garnered Adorama lots of my dollars—and, being a parsimonious old git, I don't part with them casually.

B&H and Adorama sell the same stuff at virtually the same prices. What do they have to compete with except service? And ombudsmen are a significant factor in that service, at least to me.

Henry may of may not shoot Nikon, in fact, he may shoot Sony for all I know. Or he may hate photography and shoot nothing at all. I don't care. But he does seem to have a wee bit of a Nikonitude, and about that I care.

Im a light/pale ale guy. I leave the guiness for harm :DYeah, I don't mind Guiness but won't necessarily ever order it. If given the option I always get beers from a local brewery here called Four Peaks, if not a Stella is fine, Newcastle isn't a bad option either. Heck Sam Adams is more than drinkable as well.

The only time I'll drink corona, bud, coors is if its free and that's the only option. :p But.. I'm not really a big drinker.

I would. :)

What's up with that? He went out of his way to give me specs too.

Your Nikonitude manifests itself in a "My Nikon walks all over your Canons" attitude, when you know damned well that neither Canon nor Nikon takes better pictures. In the hands of an expert, either shoots Pulitzer material, and in the hands of a GWC, both shoot crap.

But you have some slight redeeming qualities, so we forgive you. Now, if I could only remember what those qualities are....

Time for a new monitor.

Most cheap monitors are only good for "business" use, where their colors need only display graphs and pie charts.

When I monitor shop, I take a flash drive with a known image on it and go to my local computer store. Then I can compare the monitors to find one that works for me.

My wife's monitor (she's the real photographer, mind you) is a 24" Dell that I had professionally calibrated. It works flawlessly.

if i get a housing for the 7d i would keep my 7d and use it just for the surf purpose and not sell it. ANd it cost 1975 for a water housing with a sigma 10-20 port plus 300 for a flash attachment. You use a leash that attacks to the camera and then to your arm in case you drop it;)

if you take alot of in water pics and can turn it into some money go for it, otherwise i would but a nice 300mm L and just take pictures from the beach. the waves break pretty close to shore on the east coast so if you wade out to your calves a 55-250mm would be too long.

I've been to "A Salt & Battery" down in Greenwich Village. It is okay, but just isn't the same as a bog standard chippy....

I will let you know when i venture out there. :D Although my standards might not be as high :)

I am thinking of getting one IPS monitor, but not sure how I am going to sell my current monitor really  and I don't need two... so I'll just use this and just make sure to calibrate it every time I have some color sensitive stuff to print :D

Farlet...did you seeflash fill in outdoor shot examples I poated lastnight?

Hi Tony. Yeah I saw those. Thanks. I only have a 430exii I'm trying to work with. I'm blindly using ETTL most of the time. :( The Kim Kardashian pic out in the sun is a good example of how harsh broad daylight can be.

What model Dell monitor does your wife use Roger?
