Got my Son the HTC flight and my wife picked out the Pantec Laser, they dont want smart phones.

I get a discount too so i got stuff pretty cheap.

Ya, the first version of the Torch was buggy. I wasn't keen on the first version of it anyways, as I thought having a full touch screen and also having a pull out keyboard was just ludicrous. But now that they have another touch screen only phone, I'm liking it. Should be interesting to see what happens with them for next year, as they plan on using the QNX operating system of the Playbook on their cell phones starting sometime in 2012.

Nope i bypassed fixing it since she couldn't ride it. It was better this way. She is excited now to get some new wheels if the old one cant be fixed. Almost like the first steps to putting the crash behind :D

The crash really bent up her rear wheel. It cant do a full spin without hitting the frame. We also need to get her cables checked as well since the crash might have thrown them off. Those cables control shifting and breaking.

sorry I used my 100-400 mm on the 5D2 to take the point and shoot :-), meaning no tripod just hand held

ahh ok i got ya, well let me ask you this, do you think it would be a better idea just to save for alittle bit longer and get a 5dc or just go ahead and get the 40d?

I keep having this feeling i wont keep the 40d very long, i might but i've got a bad habbit of trading stuff after 6 months of having it and i feel like if i get the 5dc i wont feel that need.

Well, got back from my 3.5 hour jaunt through Police Point Park about a half hour ago. It was very relaxing, but I was disapointed there weren't many birds visible. I could here lots of them off deap in the trees, but had no way to get to them. I think I got a few keepers, out of the lowly 70 shots I took, but I'll have to wait until I get a chance to go through them on the computer. Other than that, I'm exhausted. I think I covered about 4km worth of trail.

2x 500gb C: drive, Which is where all my photos go for processing and that, as well as all unfiled recordings of TV shows (As i dislike using externals too much for this because of heat)

1x 2TB Backup drive, This is basically a mirror of everything on C: in case of the RAID array failing, it also has my lightroom library backup which occurs every 2-3 days...and my REALLY old photos which i dont need regular access to...its a slow "Green" drive so its really not useful for "normal" work...

1x 2TB Video Archive, Which has all the recorded TV Shows i've sorted through, edited and etc.... Its practically full at this point

What i really need to do is add a 1TB drive for Anime, seperate from my english TV programming and swap out my C: drive for 2x 1TB drives...

Seconded, 5Dcs are awesome, and a great body, but they're getting up there in age, and i wouldnt want one as my primary body no matter how babied given its about 5-6 years old now...also the screen and interface show their age and the 19-point AF is a really nice thing to have...

i dont have anything to trade in but i'll look at refurbished, the 5dc is still going for 1000 on ebay every day, i dont see spending that, i'll save longer and get the 7d or the 60d before i spent that.

i've made a plan and if all my junk sells i should be around the 800 dollar mark, 500 for a body and 300 for a lens so that puts me back in the 40d or drop down to a XSI or XS and have 550-600 to spend which would afford the 70-200L f/4. and THAT is very tempting.

I need to wait till i get money in hand to really worry about it, so i'll know exactly how much i have and which direction i want to go. I havent even looked at 50d's or 60d's to see if its worth saving for those.

Thats a pretty decent deal, Kit lens is the 28-135 correct? You could sell that for $200 or so and get something else

Figuring a budget of $1000....that gives you a hair over $500 to spend on lenses, You could get a few different ones for that...

Well the roads we were on have a lot of crap on the side of them, so flats happen quite a bit, we passed 5 or so groups replacing tubes. At the very end though there was a little section where we had to take the bikes off road for about 50 feet, I think the rear happened there, the front looked full when I loaded the bike up, but had picked up a staple near the very end so it was flat by the time I get home. Not really a big deal, I'll swap out the tubes and then patch the old flats later.

LOL! :lol: I was checking out the Retrospective 30 and didn't like the design. As I suspected, the flap is the culprit. I like my Domke f-7 over the the TT Retrospective. :)
