Out of curiousity i went and looked at the mall i frequently take photos in..
it is a privately owned property, i checked their rules and they have nothing firmly stated about the admission of photography on the premises....
Now should i send an email and inquire with them, or should i just forget it and keep doing it until i get yelled at or something..
Keep going until yelled at :)

No do not email take the pictures, when a security ask you to stop, obey and stop immediately do not argue. But they have no rights to get or delete your image. Just stop and get out.

honestly, thats what i am going to do
if i get yelled at, ill comply with a security guard, Leave the premises and proceed to write the management about it and tell them how saddened i am i cannot enjoy myself at the mall anymore, which means the thousands of dollars i spend there annually will go to another mall in the area...
I have NEVER had a problem though, people ask sure, i talk to them, and tell them that im a photographer/writer and i love to take pictures and write and that, i talk to them about technical aspects of photography and then they generally give me the "ok ok you're not a creep" face... I never ever try to be discrete either

:lol: I mean you could always get what you want but personally i wouldn't get them. They are built to go fast and as straight as possible. Handling is not a strong point on a tri bike because all it cares about is a time trial stage. So everything on that bike is built for that purpose. For example you wouldn't want to do a long ride on a tri bike. Your back will be killing you. It also compresses you more so you only use the muscles in your leg which you absolutely need to push the bike. Great thing if you're going to be running after the ride but pretty useless if you aren't. You also wouldn't want to tackle a hill on a tri bike because it wasn't built for that purpose. It likes nice flat roads. Just my two cents :)

1700 on the bike

600 on GPS
A few other expenses as well are around if i look at it all. A lot of that stuff will be hold overs for the next bike so usually one time purchases.

The video gives that impression but, it's not as bad you would think. Getting my 1Ds III and 70-200 in there was a breeze once you set it up to your liking. I had the UD 50 and sold it locally. It also has a zipper which will expand if you need more room. Once I looked through the UD 60 V2, it is undoubtedly a well thought out bag.
I tried to like the Retro 30 but, the flap is a bugger imho. There is lots of room in it but, I can't get passed the flap. You also complained about pain on your shoulder after long walks/treks. I can see how it would hurt your shoulder after playing around with it. The UD system with the shoulder harness can be used as a backpack. I have this same option on my Domke f-7 and it works wonders if you're walking around all day. :)

yeah my usual gear is around 8-10kg I think... I could lighten the load and its not really heavy if I am holding the camera WITH the 70-200mm, but with either the camera or the 70-200mm in there its starting to get painful after a couple of hours :lol:
what I love about the retro is its very big opening, what I hate about it is its very soft form which somehow hinders me from putting the 70-200mm smoothly, I need to wiggle it a bit specially since my front pocket is full (chargers).
the flap doesn' bother me much, but I would agree with you that it would be awesome to have a zippered top hehe...

yeap seriously, I don't see bikes as needing upgrading like a camera... with cameras and all other electronic gadgets, its evolving very fast that with every release there are probably new set of features that we might wanna have so we upgrade.
but with bikes? a good light frame that suits you now will probably still suit you 10 years after...well unless you are like me gaining almost 50lbs in 5years :rolleyes: :lol::lol:

Well one i could upgrade the wheels and lose weight there. Lighter wheels will make it easier for me to pedal up hill and increase my speeds on flats. Tires make a difference in the grip and handling of the bike which translates into increased speed. Why would you want increased speed? Not so much about going 50 mph but rather because it makes you more efficient in your energy use. You can cover longer distances with the same energy output. I could always upgrade components to make the bike either shift or break better. Always something you could change :D One thing i cant make is my bike into a carbon fiber body bike without buying a new one. That will be my next move.

no choice JD,
D700+grip = 2kg
70-200mm = 1.5KG
teleconverter = 200g
Sigma 12-24mm = 800g
55mm Micro+PK-13 = I am guessing around 400g
2 flash w/ battery= 1.5kg
some charger = 500g
bag = 1kg? haha
Total is around 8kg
it is uncomfortable indeed... imagine if I add 1 more lens in there (16-35mm), and I can actually only drop 1 flash and the chargers

Well, I just moved my desk around completely to get everything where it needs to go for my new computer.
All I had to do was move my current computer about 3 feet, and then move my receiver about a foot and then turn it.
However... this involved making a new speaker cable, redoing all of the wire management under my desk, and getting rid of about 10 lbs of dust...
I need to pick up some new cables though, one of my HDMI cables is too short now, and I need a longer Ethernet cable for my computer. I'm getting there though!

Weekend went pretty well Harm. Can not complain at all. Saw planet of the apes on friday (go see it, best summer movie in my opinion), Saturday went to get Mayras bike fixed and hung out with the family (it was also the start of summer saturdays in the city in which the close down major avenues for biking. Since it was the first one they had plenty of activities and free stuff being handed out. Did some rock climbing and received free water bottles and caffeine shots to use while biking). Yesterday did the quick bike ride to test the GPS and then off to my cousins house warming. All in all a good weekend.

Sounds fantastic Harm. City Island is quite the place. One main road goes down the island with multiple sea food restaurants on either side. Something for everyone. If you just want a no frills, get down to eating, give me a drink type of place then you just head all the way to the end near the water. You have two selections on either side of the road and they are identical in what they offer. If one place is too packed just go across the street. You get to sit right on the water and relax.

Yup those are the brands i was looking at as well. Ive already spoken to mayra about it. We can fit the bikes standing inside her GMC Envoy but if we go with three people that would leave no room for the other person to sit. So the only option is to get something on the back to carry them.

In the front bumper so as not to block the rear doors fo the wagon and mini van. Now in some states a windshield Mounted GPS can cause you a ticket for obstructing view, what about 4 bikes.
