I doubt I will ever buy anything like that Fricks... the most I would buy is the 120-300mm f/2.8 OS HSM. and that depends if I am going to shoot other things... if I am gonna stay with landscape, I only need my current gear plus 16-35mm f/4 and 24mm PC-E and I am set :D

Afternoon folks!

It's been a bit of a ride around here lately. Last night we had a tiny but very powerful storm cell move through. Hit us directly. We got 1 inch of rain in 10 minutes. Just south east of us is where the high-power transmission lines branch off the main supply corridor. 4 of those big metal towers came down along with several wooden hydro poles. Basically shut the almost the whole county down instantly. The city got power back within a few hours because they just had to do some switching. We got ours back around 2am (6 hours out), but a lot of areas still are without power. My brother-in-law is running their fridge and freezer off of their generator, and running several of their neighbour's as well. My brother was out here and took our generator to go run his fridge and freezer for awhile and then go to some friend's places to run theirs.

I don't care about having to use candles, it's everything else that requires electricity. Sump pump is a necessary thing to run, although we didn't need to this time. The ground is so dry that it just sucked up all the rain water. The water pump needs electricity too, can't flush the toilet without water!
