I was planning on going to the Photo Expo at the Javits Center in NYC this weekend but now I'm feeling lazy. People who have gone in the past years - is it worth it to go?

I was there yesterday and found it interesting. You can use the new Canon equipment as well that from other vendors. Canon had some good on-stand seminars -- there are also more formal seminars that I did not attend. Lots of vendors for paper, ink, lighting, books, website developers, equipment bags etc. B&H and Adorama had stands. For me, it was an easy way to see a variety of products and its also and easy trip from where I live in Connecticut.
I ashould also mention good booths from Adobe and Apple showing the new Aperture software -- -hands on show-and-tell if you want.

I just came from there today! It was worth it just to see Canon's new dSLR's and test some of their lenses. Quite a lot of people though, I am sure there will be lots more tomorrow. Many of the booths have their own seminars, I think I will be going back tommorow to attend some of them. the Adobe booth in particular, had seminars on tips and tricks on their photo editing software, which I enjoyed a lot but only caught the tail end of it. There was a booth specializing on wedding photography and they had a photo seminar with a 'bride and groom' posing - the photographer was giving out valuable tips and techniques.
It would be a great time to meet other POTN members. Who's going?

Don't know about that show, but I've heard that at some shows you can mess with the cameras. If that is so, take your different memory cards so you can slip them in and take a few test shots.
In particular, I would test the 5D and the Sony R1. And of course, we need a full report.
Thanks,
Mike
