Hi, Last week, I bought some roses to my wife. These flowers are slowly dying, and they are so beatiful that I was sad about it, until I decided that I wanted them, or al least their image, to leave longer! They say that whatever you post on Internet, is there forever... And here are my pics. I played a little with PS, and I am not sure wether I improved the pics or not.... Fell free to edit them, if you want.
Thanks

I would say without equivocation that you achieved your objective.
I would say further, that I don't see any reason whatsoever to change them, and it would somewhat disrespectful to do so under the circumstances.
I think your wife should be both happy and proud.
BTW, my wife's birthday is tomorrow - would you mind sending her a couple of long-stems?

Excellent pictures of your wife's roses. The deatail in the white rose especially is spot on.
Also a celebration of your 100th post and Robert's 400th :D

I concur. Wonderful shots.
As, though, this is "Critique Corner", the first shot (which I LOVE!) seems to have just a smidgen of Cyan in the whitest areas of the petals. That would be from the center to halfway out in the 10:00 o'clock direction, as well as from halfway out to the perimeter in the 4:00 o'clock direction.
The red one is beautiful as well, but I would have liked to see a better background. Inspires me to get some silk or velvet and lay one of Marcia's flowers on it for a similar shot. Thanks for the idea.

No problem! It would be a pleasure! But, are you sure you want somebody else sending flowers to your wife for her birthday?;)

Yes, now that you have pointed it out, I believe I see it as well. Maybe the pic below is a little bit better.
About the background color, I agree with you. I was using some very white bristol paper, but it would be better with something with a softer color. As a matter of fact, I believe that the white rose pic is better because of the background, which I was forced to use, otherwise the rose would have been drowed in the background. By the way, the green thing behind it is a big leafe, which came with the flowers. About the silk idea, it's not easy to have the silk holding on on a curved surface, without showing any creases (is it the right word?).
Maybe playing with the DoF I could blur the silk... Next time I'll try.
Thanks!

I just took it for granted that you would sign my name!
