I've got a Powershot S40 and I'm heading off to Europe in less than a week. If there's ever a chance to send some of my pictures home I'd love to be able to. Unfortunately I don't want to carry Canon's CD with me everywhere I go.. and I can see a lot of internet cafe's not liking some foreign kid putting a CD into a drive and installing a tonne of software just to be able to do it.

I remember someone here posting a link to a smaller (around 1 meg) generic piece of software that works with Canon brand camera's and basically rips the pictures right off onto your hard drive. Anybody have a link for that.. or know what the hell I'm talking about?

----

Also, is there any way to display the power left in a battery on an S40? The only indicator I've got is the low battery flashing on the LCD screen when it's about to die. It'd be handy to figure out how to display how much of a charge is left?

Thanks for any info guys/gals.

If the S40 is anything like the S50 then no there is no way to display battery juice on the screen.

Also for your trip dilema, I posted a whole bunch of links regarding Image Tanks (storage) it's a device that has a laptop hard drive in it that will download all images from a CF or any memory card and clean it up for you to take more shots. Check in this forum regarding trips/pics.
