What sort of things would you like to see in this "newbie corner"?
Oh, and welcome.

Thanks.
maybe a faq on things like 350d vs 20d
http://www.bobatkins.com/photography/digital/eos_digital_rebel_xt_vs_20d.html#same
and....um... i dont really remember what i have spent all night looking for but i found it by searching and jsut going page by page.
It was just an idea. a lot of forums i got to have them and post FAQs on stuff that is mentioned a lot... basically an area for simple, stupid questions, that will hopefully get answered by some of the more experienced people here.

Welcome to forum.
Feel free to post any ideas You have here or in a PM to me.
For now You can find some FAQs by searching on the keyword FAQ. There are several posts that have a the keyword FAQ in the subject line.

I vouch for a Newbie forum!
Like asking stupid questions like what is the difference between EF, EF-S or L lenses?
or even what SLR stands for. :))

That would be great.
I would love seeing people giving important as they think links to guides for beginners :o
Im imagining something like threads made by newbies and not so newbies giving advices and stuff...
im sorry im drunk.

I agree about the questions...I would love a place where I can post idiot-posts and people not laugh at me :D

The trouble with the idea of a seperate "newby" forum is that this would suggest that the rest of the forum is somehow populated by something other than "newbies" ...

http://members.bellatlantic.net/~vze2hdzu/pics/potnwelcome.gif to the Forum,.
we were all newbies once,. and most still are

Seriously,. this should describe this forum. ;)
If not let us know.
Do check the threads labeled FAQ at the top of most forums,. use the search tool,. and then feel free top ask anything :)

I'd prefer a newbie section where we can laugh at people ... or should I say laugh with them :p
How about a Canon Fodder section where people who will only buy Canon ask people who only recommend Canon which Canon they should buy next; or a section for people new to Canon DSLR's where they can be told how expensive L lenses are but that they must buy one asap so they can belong to the L Club? These would both save a lot of repeat posts.
Otherewise, I agree with CDS ...

I do have to give high points for "Canon Fodder" http://members.bellatlantic.net/~vze2hdzu/pics/roflmao.gif that's rich :)
My HO though is that NOTHING slows the influx of repeat posts. : )

Most of the questions asked around here are stupid questions (a good number of them my own), just post your question in the correct forum and someone will help you out :) FAQs seem to be appearing from time to time as well.

My contribution to the newbie corner 'dumb question' file would be; What exactly is a 'bump'? I see you bump for this or bump for that, or bump for price or just bump for no apparent reason at all. In my search I have found that you are not supposed to bump, bumping youself is spam but nowhere can I find out what bump actually means!

Bump means to post in order to get the thread on top of the list pushing other threads down. Which is why bumping is not allowed here.

Bumping moves a post to the top of a category. if someone doesnt know the answer they will post a reply that says bump and the forum automatically moves the posting to the top to show that it is still active... i hope i exlpained that well enough.

Thanks very much....it would seem that by making any post you would move to the top of the listing, so using the term 'bump' is effectively redundant. Thanks for explaining it to me. This is a great community of Canon users and is a terrific place to learn more about photography. Its quickly becoming my first place to look for information.
Thanks again.
