I am a newbie to the Forum and cannot see how to introduce a new topic, viz the 10D.
I have mine on order and have been wondering about choices for lenses.
Have decide upon Sigma, given the high cost of canon lenses. Have more or less setlled on getting the Sigma 15-30 and probably the 70-200 f2.8 EX, both of which get very good reviews generally.
I have wondered whether the sharpening software mentioned elsewhere for the D30, will be appropriate for the 10D.
Have been briefly in the digital scene with a Sony DSC S85 so the 10D will be an exciting new level for me.
Any feedback will be welcome, thank you in advance.

Hi
You have placed your question in the wrong section, that's why there have been no replies.
Not many of us have and enjoy the pro90 IS.

The most active sections of this site are :
Critique Corner, which I use a lot, and
Share Photos.

Share Photos is the more popular of the two, that is why I usually stay with the other one. I'm not really looking for critiques. It's just quieter there.

Quite a few members use the 10 D.
You could also place a query in the column below the pro90, ie D(igital) SLR cameras.

What editing program do you use ?
Most of them allow you to sharpen images.
This is better done on the computer than in the camera.
Much easier to see what you are doing and you have better control.
Sigma lenses seem to have improved a lot.

By the way, you do know that a 70 -200mm lens is actually a 112 x 320 mm equivalent ?

the sensor in digital cameras is smaller than the 35mm frame. Just over half the size.
Therefore to know the actual focal length of the lens you are using on the 10 D you multiply it by 1.6

So your Sigma would be 15 x 1.6 by 30 x 1.6

It is therefore in real terms a 24mm x 48mm lens on the 10 D.

Hope this helps.
