I took some shots of a friend of mine - she is a retired chemistry professor with a zest for life that I have rarely seen elsewhere...
I have a bunch more but I wanted some suggestions on the first couple of I have processed...
Let me have it...:)

The mono is wonderful - no critique at all.
The jungle one - for me - could have less of her face covered by the plant. I understand the wanting to "frame" her with the foliage, but I think you have overshot the mark.

I really like the mono one as well...
In terms of her and her foilage...what do you think of this?

I'd second that - The mono shot is fantastic - very difficult lighting, with a wide dynamic range - you really clock it!

Just out of interest - what's the name of the plant in the photos? (with the plump leaves)

In terms of her and her foilage...what do you think of this?Different look. This one more "balancing" than "framing". I like framing type more when frame isn't so heavy and occluding.
Great subject. Very alive. Captures show that well!

She looks like she drinks heavily and the plant has died.
Given the title "Environmental Portrait", I think the first effort is pretty good.

The photos are good:in the first I think it could do with lightening a little - in the third I think that the colour is a bit over strong.
