They appear to be a little lop sided.. Also seems to be a bit out of focus.. If I had the orriginals I'd lighten them up a bit and turn the saturation up a bit too.. But there's not a lot you can do about the OOF bits. You can try to sharpen them up a little I guess.

The originals are much better, but when I resize down to under the 100KB size allowed, I get less sharpness and changed the shape of the photo.
What am I doing wrong

I think you will find that you can post bigger images if you use an off site gallery.
I use pbase, not sure if the free membership allows you to post link, but it's only 25 bucks a year for 300 megs I think. There are other sites also that'll let you do the same.
I know it's frustrating having a nice image and then posting one that's a inferior copy due to size limit.
I do like the low close to the water angle.

I love Oak Creek Canyon, such a beautiful place!
Did you shoot these handheld? If so, you may try using a tripod or monopod (although I don't get great results with a monopod... must require some practice!). The problem may not be with the focus, but with camera shake.
I look forward to seeing more of your photos!

Wanted to get close to the water (so couldn't use a tripod or monpod for that. The faster shutter speeds may appear a little sharper. Plus a lot of it is the resizing.
