Ahhhhh, love is in the air! Halloween came a week early for this couple. I took out my camera out of the bag, put it on my lap and shot from the hip for these photos, wanting to capture them candidly, and fearing the wrath of a couple of zombies should they dislike being photographed. After several pics, they heard the shutter, and hammed it up for the camera.

Did you notice how clean the subway car is? ... the first time I revisited my birth city as an adult the subways were themselves Hell and we were warned not to walk around at night or ride the subways alone. I went back about ten years ago with my current wife and the whole town was one big wonderland and we got no warnings and traveled everywhere without incident.

The second one is fantastic, the girl's expression really almost makes the shot

That's interesting, I like the first one better for the very reason our friend here ElTwitcho likes the second: the expression on the woman's face.
The way she looks at the "groom".

Looking forward to see the next installement of your NYC streets chronicles, BB.

Thanks for looking, all! It's unfortunate that I didn't get a picture of the man's back. It was literally crawling with spiders - small rubber ones glued to the suit, and they looked real. I noticed it when they got off the train, which by that time was packed like a can of sardines. Most trains and stations are clean especially when compared to 20+ years ago. There are the occasional litterbugs though that just toss their trash (wrappers, cups, etc) on the floor nonchalantly. It is just plain inconsiderate since there are a lot of trash bins on the subway platform. Now if they leave the current newspaper, I won't mind at all, saves me a quarter.

Did you all notice, in the second photo, the woman in the bacground? She didn't even smile when the couple came inside. She just glanced up then went back to reading her paper. She probably thought "Ho hum. Just another crazy couple."

Going into the city for Yankee games we take the train in from Stamford and get off on 125th. street (fun, fun Iknow but, its convienent) and the station there is a damn sty!!!
Of course, I guess its that while the rest of the city is doing well the residents of that area refuse to give in and do their part to help make NYC a safe, fun place to go to and hang out. Oh well, ya just cant reach some people.
