Canon should consider this: instead of having back all those back-forth focusing cameras for repair, they should allow the user to adjust the focal lenght by an ordinary compensator setting in the menu (somewhere hidden, not for everyday use). I think this is only a software add on, not involving additional cost on the camera manufacturing, and could be done on existing cameras too.

I wish! But than again they probably don't do it due to all the returns they would get by the less competant photogs screwing up their cams.

IMHO it should be better if their QC was working better to *prevent* back / front focussing camera's and lenses. :p
