This may sound stupid, however I tried to insert a photo to post and nothing showed up after posting. Is there some steps or method I am missing to insert the jpg from my source. I typed a message and clicked the insert image button at the top and located my image and it didn't show.
It seems I may be better at taking the photos than posting them. Well I guess thats for others to judge.
Any help would be appreciated.

KACThank you Kenyc.. I noticed about 30 photographers set up in a field which was in the middle surrounded by mountains (a motorized nature trail). I found out it was a group of people from all over the U.S. participating in a seminar being taught by two photographers that they said were well know. I got my series of shots and left because I was told if I hung around and listen to the instrustors much longer I would had to pay the 300.00 for the seminar. This was the only image from that group of images that the sun rays stretched out from the sun. I've never seen so much expensive gear concentrated at one spot .......ever.

can you tell me hosw you took this one - is it layered/HDR?
It was a single image taken with a 300D, 17-85, CP, tripod and remote. Limited post-processing was done at the time with Photoshop Elements 3 (exposure, brightness, contrast, & saturation).
I still haven't learned how to layer images or create a HDR image yet... Hopefully soon!

I like the work you do on your images BlueDog, the only thing that puts me off is that they all seem to have a slight Halo. At first appearance #1 does not... but if you look for a while then ou'll see it. :)

Thanks Matt _ I've taken great strides to avoid the halos (especially in these two) and your the first to point it out. I will admit on some of my first images that was an issue but after processing and watching the edges at 600% on a 1280x1024 monitor I was hoping its was conquered ...

can you tell me about the added equipment you are using in these shots?
A CPL perhaps?
#1 is just awsome - even with the halo, I can see you waited for the light to be just right here.
#2 looks a little flat for the grand scale of the subject. Also appears a little grey on the right 3/4. The far left 1/4 looks OK.
Is #2 a pano? I have experienced similar issues with pano's in the past and changing software makes a big difference. I use several bits of software, some does good for some series, others for others..
Very interested to read your input.
I'm off mountaineering in a couple of weeks and need some tips badly!

Wayne I used a Hoya Pro1 Digital Circular Polarizer about 90% of the time while in Yosemite National Park.
#1 - I can't even see a halo in this one using my reading glasses.
# 2 - was taken with the 17-40L lens at 17mm, no pano. There was a lot of distant haze is the reason for the corner color shift I'd assume.

Thank you so much, Ken and Wayne. The pic is actually a vertical panorama of about 3 pics (since I can't get the entire scene I wanted out of my S2 IS). Post-processing was limited to stitching the pics, crop and resize. No filters. :) Again guys, thank you so much, I'm glad you liked it. :)

This is one of my best landscape photos. I took it at Horseshoe Canyon lookout (not really a canyon), near Elkwater, Alberta, Canada. The picture you see here would have been very close to what you saw with your eyes. I only did basic editing in PSCS2 by using USM, and colour correction (as it was a digital image). I had used a warming filter on camera.
The Camera used was a Canon Digital Rebel XT with kit lens (EF-S 18-55mm) at 55mm, f 5.6, 1/60sec, ISO 200.
