The foreground could have been brighter. A GND filter would have helped with this. The sky its self is excellent. If you do try this one again with a GND filter, have the filter over the sky portion so as to allow the light bouncing off the foreground more time to accumulate. Thus, having a brighter foreground and still having the same sky as you would have.

Oh ya, welcome to POTN :)

Personally I'm really fond of this one:

http://www.dvdpimages.com/images/landscapes/thumbs/IMG_4008.jpg (http://www.dvdpimages.com/images/landscapes/IMG_4008.jpg)

Straight from RAW, no editing (except for resize/copyright of course)

Similar, but more colourful (and with PP):

http://www.dvdpimages.com/images/landscapes/thumbs/IMG_4021.jpg (http://www.dvdpimages.com/images/landscapes/IMG_4021.jpg) http://www.dvdpimages.com/images/landscapes/thumbs/IMG_4028.jpg (http://www.dvdpimages.com/images/landscapes/IMG_4028.jpg)

Shooting almost straight into a low sun does make for interesting results...

Quite some wind (and cold - had to put on gloves because my hands went numb), and up to about 20cm height there was a lot of sand blowing across the beach, as is shown on the pictures, especially the last one. Wanted to take a picture of the sand blowing against my feet, however, the minimum focus distance was too long for that :(.
Times like this make me happy I've got at least one lens with a UV filter :D.

All taken with 400D / Sigma 70-300. Exif is included in enlarged images.

Great photo SdoubleU. I like the colours and the DOF of it. Taking this photo with the sun so low in the sky made for the perfect lighting and sky colours. The landscape shown is amazing as well. Good work!

Nice shot Bob! It reminds me of a print that my girlfriend nags me to buy every time we walk into a particular store in my area, lol. I just tell her to wake me up some foggy morning and we'll go shoot something similar.... she's yet to make me! ;)
