Thank you.
Yes it was shot at the Nubble Lighthouse Parking lot, if you look to you right faceing this house you would see the lighthouse.

Thank you so much, Ken and Wayne. The pic is actually a vertical panorama of about 3 pics (since I can't get the entire scene I wanted out of my S2 IS). Post-processing was limited to stitching the pics, crop and resize. No filters. :) Again guys, thank you so much, I'm glad you liked it. :)

Hi Nelman, this picture is great and that too you have used S2IS which is amazing. I would say that you are a great photographer in my opinion.

It's a grey heron if I ID'd it correctly (it's the most common heron here anyway).

The moment I saw the bird, I was like "D'oh! Should've brought the 70-300 after all." But at this wider angle at least I could get both the sun and the bird in frame :)

Welcome to POTN DogBreath!

I like the picture you posted above. The composition seems pretty good as does most everything else. You might wanna try to sharpen it just a bit, as it seems ever so slightly blured. Also, maybe boost the saturation a bit to bring the colours (green in particular) out just a bit more. Other than that, it's still a great photo. :)

Keep it up!!

This was shot at "Khara Pathar" near Simla in the state of Himachal Pradesh in India.
The sun peeped out after five days of incessant snowfall.
As the sun was descending for it's nightly journey on the other side, a few dying rays of the sun lit up this hut brilliantly.
I was lucky to be at the right place at the right time.

1/2 second at f/25 is what I see in the EXIF data.

Did you use a polarizer? A good circular polarizer would cut your exposure by 1.5 to 2 f-stops. Did you use a tripod?

I don't have the original files with me and somehow the exif got wiped from the second two, so from memory...the first one was my 1Ds and my 16-35 f2.8L II , the wheatfieldtire one was with my (now sold) 1D MkIII - probably with the EF 24-105 and the fog was with my 20D and EFS 17-85 and polarizers on the first two, maybe on the fog as well :)

Hmmm, just went back and the EXIF is there, not sure what's going on with my Opanda. :) Looks like my guesses were right though. :)

Great photo Gary!! I like the colours, and some how, I think the slight darkness of this scene (due to the filter, etc.) suits it. But that's just me. :)

It is Fall River Road...although I must say, I was so overwhelmed by the rmnp....so much to see. Will be visiting there again real soon.

I love it! A very special place.

Not my best shot, but a recent photomerged panorama [from 4 exposures] I like that I took in Volterra, Italy:

Well I'm in love with the canon. It's just awesome. I haven't used the sigma but really I don't think you will lose anything choosing one over the other..

Yeah, I can see why it's not your favorite - very dull and boring (not). That, to me, is an awesome photo! Love the colors in it.

Sorry for the long delay. I guess I went out that day to shoot the tulips; however, when I got there they weren't blooming yet. I was hoping that the flowers would have been opened up more. I also don't like the mud track that much, even though it does provide a nice leading line.

This is indeed an HDR shot. I don't usually shoot HDR unless it's the only way; it was the only way this morning. I had my 3 stop graduated ND on and couldn't get the flowers in the foreground light enough w/o blowing out the sky. This shot is 3 shot HDR that I did w/ the ND grad on. I think the grad helped to keep the HDR effect from being too obvious though.

Just to counterbalance all this lovely colourfulness, here's a bleak and drab scene from near the top of Blencathra in the English Lake District yesterday around noon...

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3002/2822408454_ccecc4b4d3_o.jpg

I didn't have time to set everything up because it was about to rain, so no tripod + tiredness from climbing Blencathra + oncoming rain storm = not so sharp as I'd usually like. I still like the picture, though.

I like it Endlessdream......although I can't quite deside why at the moment. Perhaps it's just the simplicity and the colours.......Kinda gives you a feeling of solitude when you look at it (I think). :)
