I haven't figured out landscape photos yet, but while bouncing around in the backseat of a Cessna 180 float plane last week I managed to catch the sunset coming down as we were heading back home from a quick tour of the area (Northwestern Ontario).

For me... pure luck in capturing the vivid Orange sky... not the greatest capture... by my rookie fav so far :)

Thanks :)

Both were good sessions, the first involved driving 250kms on 1.5hrs sleep to get there for the dawn, and the second, a 1.5hr scramble up a creek.
(the third was the result of a 9 hour wait to secure our spot)

hmm thats odd looks fine on my mac. It was a really rainy day at arches and sun only peaked a few times making the place flat and gray in color. Next day bright blue sky and white puffy clouds. Go figure.

Really wide panorama and therefore very difficult to look at on the interweb, I know (just be thankful I didn't post the 17000x3000 original). I found it impossible to crop this, though; the whole place is just wonderful.

The Lake District, from the top of Great Gable. Bigger version here, a look at it is more recommended than looking at the resized flickr version below (http://essjaypee.deviantart.com/art/From-Great-Gable-99849446).

Sorry Goingcarcrazy, the orange one is mine, so not available for dibs. ; )

Endlessdream, it wasn't done for a magazine. A couple of friends and myself were on a driving holiday a couple of weeks ago.

82NoMe if you follow the link below, it should take you to a zoomed in Google Earth view, showing exactly where the photo was taken. If you zoom out a little, the small town just to the south is a place called Andermatt. We were on our way to the Sustenpass, further to the north.

The 'grass covered' part of the road is a structure to protect the road from rock falls.

Sure Al.. If I remember correctly ..duplicate layer and first a curves adjustment layer to bring up the green in the grass and then a layer mask to mask the mountains and sky. Then another hue/sat adjustment layer for the sky. Mask the hue/sat layer and then erase the mask over the sky..

I just realized that I suck at explaining these steps... I hope that helped a little.

jarud, those are simply stunning!

Where in Norway do you live (and where did you take the last one)? I live in Trondheim. We moved here from Sweden in 2004 and like it very much. Norway is such a beautiful country with friendly people. Last summer we traveled to Lofoten along the coast (lots of ferries...) and this summer we plan to go south, to Geiranger, Sognefjord etc.. I can't wait.
