Double exposure using 350D

Hi need help....i own a 350D and wanna to do a double exposure in 1 shoot.How and what should i do?:rolleyes:

You cannot do double exposures in a digital camera like you can on film. Unlike film, the digital "image" is really a computer file. You cannot just expose the file to light a second time like you can with film. Digital cameras (at least the ones I am familiar with) do not have the ability to combine two image files internally to emulate double-exposure in a film camera.

However, you can combine images in Photoshop (or many of its counterparts), giving the same effect as a double-exposure. I can't explain how, though. I have a long way to go with Photoshop before that becomes second nature to me.

I'm not photoshop expert, but if I were going to try something like this I would just add the second photo as a layer of the first and change the opacity of the new layer. This will blend the two photos. You may also want to change the blend mode to "screen" to simulate the extra light of a double exposure if that is what you are going for.

One advantage of doing it digitally, you can blend two photos in ways that you can't do with a simple double exposure of film. Try playing with the blend mode to get some different effects.

If it is a long-exposure shot, you can switch to bulb mode and cover the lens with a piece of card. Remove the card to selectively expose images. This is a common technique used for fireworks shots.

Yup..I did this for fireworks this year with my 20D. It works really well and is kinda fun. Timing when to remove and replace it is interesting...have to decide how you want the shot...whether you want trails from the rocket or just the explosion, etc.
