Surprisingly, this shot turned out ok. It was taken at a friend's house during her early halloween party last night. I brought my camera and tripod in the hopes of catching this shot of the magnificent view from her balcony and maybe grab a few of the party along the way. Composition turned out well considering by the time these were taken I had partaken in everything available to partake in and wasn't exactly well focused in my endeavors...

Nicer than a postcard, Eltwitcho ! ;)
What I particularly like about it is the vertical stacking you have achieved......in an odd way, there is a pyramid like depth ascending to and culminating in the CN tower. Well crafted indeed.

Awesome shot mate, looks like whatever it was you consumed at the party, brought out your creative side.

Very nice. I suppose you bracketed a lot? Exposed for the highlights?

I think you have made the Steel Jungle of Canada look wonderful...if only it looked like that in real life...

Petkal - Thanks dude. It's funny how the composition turned out. I couldn't quite get it right for the longest time, shift a little to the left "crap", shift a little to the right "crap", zoom out a bit "crap", a bit more to the left again and suddenly "bingo" the composition worked. I was more careful than usual about not budging my tripod once I had it dialed in. I was worried that if it got moved during the exposure I wouldn't be able to recapture the composition to fix the ruined shot ;)
bikerider - Much obliged. The other shots from that night certainly turned out a bit bizzare I'll admit. When I get ahold of everyone who was in them and ask to put it on my gallery I'll be sure to share. At this rate, I might have that done before halloween 2006 if I'm lucky though.
jopfin - Well on the topic of partaking, If it don't kill ya, it'll sure make you feel like you wish it had after your girlfriend wakes you up only 3 hours after you went to sleep... Thanks for the kind words
Bottom - I simply exposed for the highlights and hoped for the best. At 20 seconds of exposure with an aperture of 9.5 I *think* you're looking at reciprocity failure anyway so I don't know if the meter even works properly at that point. Nonetheless, I find with shots of lights in the dark you have an awful lot of lattitude regarding exposure, moreso than a daylight scene at any rate.
cmM - Thank you. I'm going to get it printed I think. Girlfriend demands one at 8x12, somehow I get the feeling I'll be paying the $12 for the first print and she'll cover the 3 dollars per additional print...
symes - symes my man, it's all in seeing the world with the right kind of eyes. It all looks even better in real life, you just gotta frame it correctly in your mind's eye ;)
Thank you everyone
