Or is it a plug in I must buy?

a 5-second Google search reveals that both have RAW support built in, although it is reduced in functionality from CS :)

They have the support, but you may have to download a more recent plug-in depending on your camera and whether you get PSE3 or PSE4.

Why not try RSE?
I've used the free RSE (RawShooter Essentials) since it came out & wouldn't be without it now. I usually only go into PS to crop, resize & do some final sharpening unless it's a complex shot. For the simple shots, RSE saves the conversion info so I can delete the big tiff file & save a lot of hard drive space in the long run.
For complex shots with many layers I save the tiff.

RSE won't work on my computer. :(

I tried it but it says that my AMD Athlon XP machine doesn't have the math engine it needs, I need an Intel Processor or a newer AMD chip. :(
