Cute Baby! Here's my advice:
#1 would be great if the baby was sleeping. #2 is OOF. If you don't have an external flash, try having the baby near a more lit place.

He's about two months old so getting him to sleep was very hard. My speed light showed up a day late so no flash just a clamp light off to the right

I'd place the light source higher in #1

#2 isn't OOF, it has camera shake. It was shot at 1/10. Bump the ISO when shooting ambient and don't sacrifice by using a slow shutter speed.
