i want to make a reflector, and i think i've found the perfect material for it.
it's the sun reflector thingy that people put on the front windscreen of their cars.

it looks like wrinkled up alloy foil - but it's soft and bendable, almost like a pillow case..

it's the length of a cars windscreen, and as tall, so if you can picture that in your heads.

heres where i need help -

what would i use to make it stiff and straight so i can use it for day photography?

i COULD find some pieces of wood and try and make it into a kite type of backing, but then it would be really hard to cart it around, and it wouldn't fit in the car.

any ideas?

btw: try not to suggest things that cost $$'s, just think of what i could use around the house.

What about something like old umbrella parts that could extend/contract?

Here's a link to photos of what I built a few years ago. You can set them to any angle you need.

what i've decided to do, is use this:

and i'm going to buy some tent poles from a supply store, and some small curtain hooks, and weed them through.

then i can disassemble is in less than 5 seconds, and wrap it up so i can throw it in the back of the car, and carry it with me with ease. and assemble is just as easily. :D

i'll post up when it's finished
