hopefully sometime soon, i'll get the $ from my client to print up these photos of her friends wedding.
i've seen alot of gloss, and matt finish photos.
personally i prefer the matt finish, it looks more professional and clean to me.
what do you prefer?
also - i'm getting my photos printed at BigW for 20cAU each, compared to kodak or whatnot charging 59cAU each, - is there a difference in quality? i had a look, and both stores are using AGFA machines, but different model numbers (can't remember which). i'm only printing in 6x4's, so will there be much difference?

Anything under glass (framed) should be on matte because gloss will give bad reflections with lights. It may be different if being put into an album. I haven't looked at photo albums in a long time.

My experience is that if there are large, solid areas of white in the scene (e.g. a white wedding gown), then gloss doesn't work as good as matt. If the bride were wearing a colored gown, then either paper would work.

Luster is best if you can find it :p (I think ) But definitely Matt over Glossy.... the only thing that I have found glossy good for is if you plan to scan them on a flatbed scanner. Otherwise, Matt holds up better against fingerprints and doesn't seem to show any minute imperfections like glossy does.
I worked for over 2 years in a photo developing store/photography studio...... and we always recommended Matt.

matte. way better. Looks more professional, too, imo.

Glossy looks like the photos people get from their baby cameras for a few cents, definitely matt.

Use Matte Matt. :) Matte looks better as said previously under glass

Unless your lab can spray them. At which point they will look a lot better AND you don't have to worry about finger prints... and there's no need for glass on top of them, so they will look better than your matt print with a thin glass on top.

yeah, lustre is expensive, if they want it - i'll do it, but these aren't pro shots.
can anyone reply in regard to:
