I have been unable to get EE backup running for several months. I have upgraded to the latest PHP, tweaked various settings, and tried various techniques with phpMyAdmin.
Using phpMyAdmin, I emptied out all previous Backup data & emptied out the ee_backup directory - such that the Backup/Restore screen contains no references to previous backups. I am able to Dump all EE structure&data successfully & save to a file using phpMyAdmin.
But when I try EE Backup utility to backup to file, it immediately crashes the PHP program on the server - which must be terminated.
I'm lost. Any suggestions what to try next appreciated.
