Well, we went out to the desert and my wife "discovered" macro photography (using my 10D). She was simply blown away with the quality that could be achieved with it, so now I'm looking for another 10D body. Anyone have any leads? I figure I'll call Kurts back in the morning, but figured I'd ask the group if they knew of anyone who had one in stock.
Also, thanks to all the contributors on the various macro lens threads. I'm always amazed at the wealth of info this and other forums have amassed in a relatively short number of years.

People have been finding them at BestBuy, CompUSA, Fry's and even Circuit City stores. I saw one sitting in our local Pro Photo Supply (Portland OR) store yesterday.

Was that unit for sale? I was there earlier in the week buying a lens and they told the guy next to me there was a 5 week wait.

I didn't ask as they were busy with their "Nikon Days" thingie. Maybe it's just a display model. (Hi neighbor!)

Hi! Yes they were pretty busy. If you were there around 11:30 yesterday, I might have squeezed past you at some point ;)

Well, Fry's (on Rosecrans in Manhattan Beach) has them on the shelf!! So the search is over. We now have body #2 in hand. Thanks for the heads up.

I guess all Fry's just got a shipment in, I got my body yesterday from Fry's in Irving TX... I dont know if they still have them, but they told me monday morning (on the phone) that they had a few in stock, so I put mine on hold... but who knows, they may still have some.
Haha, OK my CF card story... along with my camera I got a CF card put on hold... just so I wouldnt have to walk around in the store, so the woman working there gets me my camera, and I was like "um I had a CF card too" she looked and saw it was on the reciept, so she went in "the cage" to find it... she came back with an AMD Athlon processor, I looked at it and didnt say anything she was like "is this is...." and I was like "no..." so she went back to look for it... unkowning to her or me at the time... the woman in charge of "the cage" gave her another list of someon elses order, and so she came back with the same processor and was like "are you SURE this isn't it... and I am like...yeah" so then she find the mixup and comes back with it...
by the way it is a sandisk card and I seem to be happy with the card so far (not to mention that I am thrilled with the camera)

is the 10D any cheaper @ frys than ritz ($1499 no tax)?

The price is the same, $1499, but you will end up paying tax. For me, it was worth the extra few bucks, not to be on some eternal wait list.

Do you think the 3 year warranty plan for $90 is a good idea on the EOS 10D? Who here purchased the extended warranty?
