I am an owner of a Canon G1. I have just bought a new computer that runs XP and I can not get my cumputer to regonize that the camera is connected. I have loaded my software and upgraded to the new Zoom Browser. I laso have BreezeBrowser running and downloaded the BreezeBrowser Downloader. I up graded to the new WIA 391 driver and loaded that on the computer. After running the driver program it say to connect your camera and turn it on to the downlaod mode and the computer should know it is connected. So far I have had no luck. One thing I did notice when adding the software it said it was XP complient. Boy this all boggles my mind. Is there something else I can do.

Thanks Gord

What you should do is:

1. Turn the camera on in the PC connect mode and connect it to your PC.

2. Right-click on My Computer and select Properties, click on the Hardware tab, then click on Device Manager.

3. Click on the + next to Imaging Device (or Other Devices if Imaging Device is not listed)

4. Right click on the Powershot G1 (or Canon Digital Camera) and click on Update driver.

5. When the Update Driver Wizard starts, click Next. When the driver is updated, the G1 Event Window should pop up. Click Cancel on it, then close all the windows.

6. When you are back at your desktop, turn off your camera then turn it back on. It should work fine.
